Choosing an air purifier for a nursery

It has an optional UV-C light that you can leave off. The caveat: owners are split on noise at the higher speeds, so plan to use the low setting.
- Coway Airmega AP-1512HH. More than a nursery needs, which means it can idle quietly on auto. The listing says the air quality light can be turned off. The caveat: it has an ionizer. It is optional, so leave it switched off.
Where to put it
- Out of reach of the crib. Small hands pull on cords and poke grilles.
- On the floor or a low, stable surface where it cannot be pulled over once your child is crawling.
- Run the cord along the wall, not across the floor.
- A few feet from the crib is fine. You do not need it blowing on the baby.
- Keep the door closed when you can. A purifier sized for one room cannot clean the hallway too.
